CLAIRE ROUSAY (US) — ELECTRONICS, VOCALS
[DE] Plastiktüten, Trommeln, elektrische Gerätschaften, Flüstern, Social-Media-Geplapper, Aluminiumdosen – das sind nur einige der Instrumente, mit denen claire rousay an ihren Klanglandschaften arbeitet. Die Liste lässt sich fortsetzen: Stoppuhren, Rasenmäher, Feldaufnahmen, Sprachnachrichten... rousay konzentriert sich auf die Emotionen, die in den scheinbaren Belanglosigkeiten des Alltags versteckt sind, und fördert ihr ungeahntes Potenzial zutage. Sie ist dabei, gerne auch mit Momenten der Irritation oder Provokation, immer einer Poetik des Übersehenen und Überhörten auf der Spur. Und schafft zugleich eine Musik, die sich oft am Rande des Verschwindens bewegt, aber genau dort am stärksten wirkt.
[EN] Plastic bags, drums, electrical devices, whispers, social media chatter, aluminum cans – these are just some of the instruments claire rousay uses to create her soundscapes. The list goes on: stopwatches, lawnmowers, field recordings, voice messages... rousay concentrates on the emotions that are hidden in the apparent trivialities of our everyday lives and draws out their untapped potential. In this way she is always searching for a poetry of the overlooked and unheard, interspersing it with moments of confusion or provocation. At the same time, she creates music that often seems to be on the verge of disappearing, and yet that is precisely where it is most impactful.
