[DE] Das zentrale Werkzeug von Carl Michael von Hausswolff ist Aufnahmetechnik. Mikrofone, Mischpulte und Schaltkreise liefern das Material für seine Kompositionen – oder auch Instrumente der Emissionsspektroskopie, mit denen er die von physikalischer Materie ausgestrahlten Wellen aufzeichnet (nachzuhören auf seinem Album Still Life – Requiem). Diesen Ansatz hat von Hausswolff parallel immer auch ins Visuelle erweitert. Seit Ende der 1970er Jahre manipuliert und kombiniert er die Elemente Licht und Ton zu Drone-Landschaften von großer Komplexität, Eleganz und Schönheit. Bei A L'ARME! präsentiert er eine dieser audiovisuellen, puren und intuitiven Studien von Frequenzen und Elektrizität. Von Hausswolff selbst spricht von einem „tonalen Autismus“, den er im Laufe seiner Karriere längst zur Vollendung gebracht hat.
[EN] Carl Michael von Hausswolff’s main tool is recording technology. Microphones, mixers, and circuits provide the material for his compositions – as well as tools of emission spectroscopy that he uses to record the waves emitted by physical matter (which can be heard on his album Still Life – Requiem). von Hausswolff has always expanded this approach into visual performance as well. Since the end of the 1970s, he has manipulated and combined the elements of light and sound to create drone landscapes of enormous complexity, elegance, and beauty. At A L’ARME!, he will present one of these pure, intuitive audiovisual studies of frequencies and electricity. von Hausswolff himself talks about a “tonal autism” that he has long since perfected over the course of his career.
