[DE] Selten zuvor war ein Fagott in solchem Facettenreichtum zu hören wie in den Händen und an den Lippen von Joy Guidry. Die Improvisator:in, Komponist:in, Geschichtenerzähler:in und Aktivist:in entführt es in Ambient-Abgründe genauso wie in Gospel-Gefilde. Die klassisch lyrischen Qualitäten des Instruments transponiert Guidry in atonale Ausbrüche und politisches Aufbegehren. Die SZ spricht angesichts von Guidrys jüngstem Album Radical Acceptance von einem „der stärksten Statements, die die freie Musik in letzter Zeit gemacht hat“. Begleitet wird diese Klangvielfalt auf der Bühne von einem hochsensiblen sechsköpfigen Ensemble, welches das Widerspiel aus Spannung und Erlösung in neue Dimensionen führt. Die von A L'ARME! in Auftrag gegebene Live-Umsetzung von Radical Acceptance erfährt nun endlich ihre Weltpremiere. Ein Ereignis.
[EN] Rarely before has a bassoon been played in with such a rich diversity as in the hands and on the lips of Joy Guidry. The improviser, composer, storyteller and activist takes her music to both ambient abysses and paradisiacal pastures. Guidry transports the classic lyrical qualities of the instrument into atonal outbursts and political rebellion. Süddeutsche Zeitung describes Guidry’s latest album Radical Acceptance as one of “the strongest statements that free music has made recently.” On the stage, this diversity of sound is accompanied by a highly sensitive six-person ensemble that takes the counterplay of tension and redemption to an entirely new dimension.
